BAXTER-The founder of Minnesotans for Line 3 will host a community event Tuesday, May 15, to share his perspective on the proposed Enbridge oil pipeline.

The event will be 10:30 a.m. at Arrowwood Lodge at Brainerd Lakes in Baxter.

Bob Schoneberger is the founder of the organization, an advocacy group supporting the reconstruction of the Enbridge's Line 3 oil pipeline along the preferred route.

Schoneberger is also CEO and president of United Piping Inc., a mechanical and general contractor that specializes in facility construction within the oil and gas pipeline industry. Schoneberger has been president of UPI since its inception in 1997.

The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission is preparing to make its decision related to plans to rebuild Enbridge's Line 3 pipeline. Supporters of the project are hoping the PUC will certify the pipeline is needed and should be rebuilt along a preferred route that avoids tribal land and has already been studied, a news release stated.
