Police arrest 3 in stabbing in northeast Brainerd

Police were called to northeast Brainerd following an assault, where a victim was stabbed.

Three men were arrested during the early morning hours Friday, April 9, following a report of a stabbing in northeast Brainerd.

The Brainerd Police Department was called at 1:35 a.m. to suspicious activity on the 100 block of First Avenue Northeast in northeast Brainerd. Officers responded and located a 48-year-old man who had been stabbed. The assault involved numerous individuals.

Brainerd police rendered first aid to the victim, who was then transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd with non-life-threatening injuries.

The individual was revived and provided information as to the source of the fentanyl she had consumed prior to the overdose.
During the investigation, Sgt. Paul Dooley utilized his K-9 partner Keno and tracked the suspects to a residence on the 100 block of Third Avenue Northeast.

Officers arrested:

  • A 28-year-old man was arrested for felony aggravated robbery, second- and third-degree assault;

  • A 45-year-old man was arrested for felony threats of violence and second-degree assault;

  • A 42-year-old man was arrested for violating a domestic abuse no contact order.

All three men were transported to the Crow Wing County Jail. Formal charges are pending with the Crow Wing County Attorney’s Office.
Brainerd police reported that it appears all the people involved in the assault are known to each other and there is no threat to the public.
