Police ask for public’s help to find 13-year-old boy

The Brainerd Police Department reported a 13-year-old boy ran away from a group home facility in Brainerd on May 21.

The police department posted Tuesday, June 16, on its Facebook page asking for help in finding the boy. The boy is identified as Richard Derosier. The 13-year-old is described as a native American with brown hair and brown eyes and is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and between 125-140 pounds.The teen was wearing grey sweatpants, white Nike shoes, a black hoodie and had a black backpack at the time he was reported missing.

Brainerd Police Chief Corky McQuiston in an email stated the police department has received some tips that the boy had possibly been in the Cass Lake, Blackduck and Beltrami County areas, but attempts to locate him were unsuccessful. McQuiston said the boy is avoiding law enforcement and police suspect relatives or friends may be assisting him to avoid law enforcement.

Anyone with information on the boy's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Brainerd Police Department at 218-829-2805.
