THEFT - Diane Poppenga on Friday reported the theft of a laptop computer from her parents home on the 20000 block of Thunder Road in Staples.
<strong>Baxter police</strong>
CRASH - No injuries were reported after a vehicle at 3:43 p.m. Sunday slid into a telephone pole and electrical box at Excelsior Road and Cherrywood Drive.
THEFT - A gas drive-off was reported Sunday at the Holiday Station, 15052 Dellwood Dr.
PROPERTY DAMAGE - Nancy Charkuff, 10000 block of Memorywood Drive, Sunday reported damage to her property.
Thomas Schmidt, 10000 block of Cottage Grove Drive, Saturday reported an object thrown at his residence.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY - At 4:22 a.m. Sunday a resident on the 6000 block of Mary Street reported hearing footsteps in her backyard and on her roof. An officer checked and located a cat on the woman's roof.
THEFT - Received a report Friday of a cell phone stolen from Forestview Middle School, 12149 Knollwood Dr.
<strong>Brainerd police</strong>
CRASH - No injuries were reported after a vehicle struck a parked car at 3:56 p.m. Sunday on the 400 block of Third Avenue Northeast.
BURGLARY - Laura Giles, 700 block of Southwest Fourth Street, Saturday reported her apartment broken into and a television stolen.
INVESTIGATION - At 5:56 p.m. Friday received a report from Essentia Health-Brainerd Clinic, 2024 S. Sixth St., of a threat from a subject who stated during a phone call, "The only way to get help is if someone goes postal." An officer spoke with the subject, who said he was talking with his roommate while on hold with the clinic and was unaware clinic staff heard his comment. The subject said he would never cause harm to anyone.
THEFT - Received a report Friday that a Nintendo Wii was stolen from Journey North Community Church, 1001 Kingwood St.
PROPERTY DAMAGE - Received a report Friday that a 12-year-old girl at Girls PORT, 115 N. First St., had damaged a vehicle. The girl was transported to Northwestern Juvenile Center in Bemidji, where she is being held for probation violation in Cass County and local charges of felony damage to property.
<strong>Staples police</strong>
ALARM - At 5:57 p.m. Sunday responded to an alarm at Staples Elementary School, 1025 Fourth St. N.E. Officers located several people there for basketball practice and learned they were given an inactive code for the alarm.
PROPERTY DAMAGE - Elizabeth Mertens, 100 block of Dakota Avenue, Saturday reported damage to her fence.
It was reported Nov. 16 that windows at Freshwater Building, 1100 Fifth St. N.E., had been shot out with a BB gun.
Crystal Erickson, 200 block of Sixth Street Northeast, on Nov. 16 reported a window broken out of her van.
CRASH - No injuries were reported in a crash at 3:54 p.m. Friday at Second Avenue and 12th Street.
THEFT - Staples Postmaster Gloria Fischer on Thursday reported numerous instances of theft and tampering of mail outside of the city. Suspects would steal the mail, open certain letters and then throw the mail in the ditch. The suspects were targeting rural mailboxes.
ASSAULT - At 8:01 p.m. Nov. 16 responded to a residence on the 400 block of Eighth Street Northeast after a juvenile male reported he had been assaulted by another juvenile male. The incident is under investigation.
<strong>Crow Wing sheriff</strong>
CRASHES - No injuries were reported in a crash at 9:49 p.m. Sunday on the 30000 block of Crow Wing County Road 3.
No injuries were reported after a vehicle went into the ditch at 9:47 p.m. Sunday at Crow Wing County Roads 23 and 24.
PROPERTY DAMAGE - Jacquelyn Lemieux, 20000 block of Carolyn Lane, Saturday reported window screens cut on her front porch.
Emily Young, 20000 block of West Reno Lake Road, Saturday reported chickens killed at the location.
Heidi Landin, 10000 block of Thompson Road, Friday reported damage to her vehicle and residence.
THEFT - Kayleen Imsande of the Baxter Snowmobile Club Friday reported theft of money from a pull tab box on the 10000 block of Highway 371.
