Police seek public's help finding suspect in fire

The Brainerd Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a male seen running from a suspicious structure fire Sunday on the 900 block of 9th Avenue.

The Brainerd Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying a male seen running from a suspicious structure fire Sunday on the 900 block of 9th Avenue.

Police and firefighters responded following a report of an explosion at a detached garage. The fire was swiftly extinguished, with no reported injuries.

The suspect was described as having sandy brown hair, no shirt and a large embellished tattoo of a cross on his back. The police encouraged those with any information to call 218-829-2805.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal and the Brainerd Fire Department are investigating the fire.
