Last week, the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority approved two loans totaling nearly $2.3 million for wastewater and water main improvements in the city of Browerville.

"This is great news for families and businesses in Browerville that depend on access to safe and clean water," stated Rep. John Poston, R-Lake Shore, in a news release. "I was proud to support $64 million in new funding for the PFA this year to ensure water quality projects like those in Browerville are made possible for communities around the state."

The Todd County city of 763 people was approved for a loan of nearly $1.39 million from the PFA's Clean Water Revolving Fund for wastewater improvements and a loan of $891,971 from the PFA's Drinking Water Revolving Fund for water main improvements. The 1.111 percent, 20-year loans from each of those funds will save local taxpayers a total of nearly $381,000 compared with the cost of a conventional loan for the same amount.
