Crews from Brainerd Public Utilities were busy Monday, responding to two power outages in the city.
The first outage, which happened about 5:45 p.m. and affected northeast Brainerd, was caused by a tree falling on a power line, said Scott Magnuson, BPU superintendent. The second outage, which happened about 7 p.m. and lasted until just after 8 p.m. and affected portions of west Brainerd, was believed to have been caused by an osprey, Magnuson said. Ospreys were also the cause of a May 3 power outage in west Brainerd.
Further information on the outages was expected to be available Tuesday.
