Pine-River Backus School District students Sept. 18 will get the chance to speak with NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
The question-and-answer session is part of the NASA in-flight educational downlink program. The 20-minute live question and answer session will happen sometime between 8-11:30 a.m.
Astronauts Randy Bresnik and Mark Vande-Hei from NASA expedition 53 will be the astronauts speaking directly with PR-B students.
This event will also be broadcasted live on NASA TV and will be recorded and available on YouTube. The final schedule will be set by NASA on Sept. 15.
Following the question-and-answer session is a fair highlighting NASA and science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics programs. Community members and students in grades K-12 are welcome. There will be hands-on and interactive exhibits open to students and the community.
