The Brainerd Fire Department will conduct a prescribed burn Monday night, July 31, at Rotary Park in Brainerd.
The park is located south of the water treatment plant off East River Road.
The burning will begin at 5 p.m. and is expected to be completed by 10 p.m. There will be smoke in the area during that time, the fire department stated in a news release.
The fire department asks that people stay out of the area during the time of the burn, as there will be equipment working in the area to control the fire.
The burn is to restore the natural grasses in the area and will also provide a training opportunity for the fire department. The burn is in cooperation with the Minnesota DNR, Rotary Club of Brainerd and the Crow Wing County Soil and Water Conservation District.
