Public hearing set on Golf Course Drive

Tuesday, the Baxter City Council heard prices have gone up for the project to do a full-depth reclamation of what can currently be a rough ride on a heavily traveled street.

The city set a public hearing at 6 p.m. May 5 at city hall.

The proposed project would run from Excelsior Road and Woida Road.

The total project cost increased from $1,305,535 to $1,369,084. City costs increased from $391,161 to $415,044. The assessments are estimated to have increased from $914,193 to $954,040. One of the factors in increasing the cost was going from 770 feet of curb and gutter replacement to 2,681, adding $9,555.

For residents of the Country Club Estates, costs are estimated to increase from $64,737 to $67,049, which translates to an increase per unit from $2,158 to $2,235.

Bolton & Menk recommended removing the south pedestrian crossing.
