The next meeting of the Paul Bunyanland Historical and Cultural Society is planned to coincide with Brainerd History Week.

The meeting will take place 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Brainerd Industrial Center, formerly the Potlatch/Wausau Paper Co. paper mill.

The meeting will include a presentation from Jackson on the early history of the paper mill, dam and industry in northeast Brainerd. Mike Higgins, CEO of the BIC, will present on the future of the building. The meeting will also honor former paper mill employees and U.S. military veterans in attendance.

"We are hopeful to attract hundreds of people to this event," said Jeremy Jackson, coordinator of the group, in a news release.

Limited seating will be offered for the indoor event, but organizers are encouraging those planning to attend to bring lawn chairs.
