BAXTER — Rain this week postponed a micro surface road project in Baxter.
Baxter plans to micro surface 1.5 miles of streets including Inglewood Drive from Excelsior Road to Woida Road and Clearwater Road from Kimberlee Drive to Inglewood Drive.
The contractor, Astech Corporation, planned to complete the project Thursday and Friday, Aug. 26-27, but with the rain the final surface course will be done Monday. The contractor will then install new pavement markings on the micro surfaced streets two weeks following completion.
The streets will remain open to local traffic throughout the project and Baxter officials will send an official notice of when construction is complete.
The city, in a news release, asked for people to be aware of possible slow traffic or closed roadways. Motorists are asked to drive with caution when in a construction zone and expect traffic delays during this construction.
