ST. CLOUD - Motorists will encounter delays when the ramp from westbound Highway 10 to County Road 29 in Sauk Rapids is closed at 9 a.m. today.
The ramp will reopen by May 8.
A signed detour will direct motorists along westbound Highway 10, to the Highway 10/County Road 33 interchange, to eastbound Highway 10, and back to County Road 29.
The closure is needed while crews resurface the ramp as part of the Highway 10 reconstruction in Sauk Rapids and St. Cloud.
Motorists planning to travel on Highway 10 in Sauk Rapids and St. Cloud should plan additional time for travel and seek alternate routes during peak travel periods. Below is a list of the project's current planned traffic changes:

• Highway 10 between East St. Germain Street and County Road 33 is one lane in each direction with head-to-head traffic switched to the eastbound side of the road while the westbound lanes and ramps are reconstructed.
• The ramp from westbound Highway 10 to County Road 29 will close at 9 a.m. today and will reopen by May 8.
• Both ramps at westbound Highway 10/Benton Drive are closed until further notice. A signed detour directs motorists along East St. Germain Street and Lincoln Avenue.
• The loop from County Road 29 to westbound Highway 10 is closed until further notice. A signed detour directs motorists along County Road 29 and Highway 15.
• The ramp from westbound Highway 10 to County Road 3/Golden Spike Road, and the loop from County Road 3/Golden Spike Road to westbound Highway 10, are closed until further notice. A signed detour will direct motorists along County Road 29 and 10th Avenue.
• All lanes of Highway 10 are expected to open by May 22 for Memorial Day weekend travel. After the Memorial Day holiday, Highway 10 will again be reduced to a single lane in each direction with all traffic on the westbound side of the road while the eastbound Highway 10 lanes and ramps are reconstructed.
Updates on future traffic changes will be issued as details become available.
The closures are needed as part of a project that will reconstruct Highway 10 in St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids. The project will result in a smoother ride and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) reports it will help ensure the transportation system continues to serve the state for many years.
