MERRIFIELD-A rear-end crash caused injury to one driver Thursday on County Highway 3 near Merrifield.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported the crash occurred at 2:12 p.m. Thursday, near the intersection of County Highway 3 and Bonnie Road. According to the crash report, a Pontiac Sunfire was traveling south on County Highway 3, preparing to turn left onto Bonnie Road, when it was rear-ended by a Jeep Grand Cherokee. A third vehicle was involved when debris from the crash hit a Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling north on County Highway 3.
The driver of the Pontiac Sunfire-Kevin Douglas Wood, 54, Brainerd-suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Wood was transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.
Samantha Renee Blocker, 18, of Merrifield, and Ann Maree Vondelinde, 37, of Coon Rapids, did not suffer injury. Blocker drove the Jeep and Vondelinde drove the pickup truck.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office assisted the state patrol at the scene.
