BAXTER — Two people were hospitalized Wednesday, April 14, after a rear-end crash involving a Kenworth semitrailer in Baxter.
The Baxter Police Department was called at 11:57 a.m. to the crash involving three vehicles and the semitrailer at the intersection of Cypress Drive and Highway 210. The rear-end crash began when the semitrailer rear-ended a Ford Edge, which caused the Edge to hit a Kia, which then hit a Ford truck, police reported.
The driver of the Edge, William T. Abbott, 69, and his passenger, Patricia Ann Abbott, 59, both of Hackensack, were transported by North Memorial Health Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd to be treated for injuries.
Anthony M. Wagner, 22, Staples, who drove the Ford truck; Ruth J. Hageman, 67, Pillager, who drove the Kia; and Gary H. Volkman, 76, McGregor, were not injured.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and the Brainerd Police Department assisted at the scene.
