CROSBY-The Crow Wing County Dive Team is currently searching a mine pit lake near Crosby for a child believed to be in the water who hasn't been located, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office.
Responders were first called to the scene at roughly 7:40 p.m., Friday, July 20. Boats and the dive team were deployed to the area and searchers requested the assistance of a rescue drone as they scour the area.
According to an initial scanner report, responders were concerned the child was swept up by strong currents from a stream into the mine pit lake. Information on the specific lake was not available as of 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Sheriff's deputies are on scene and the Crosby Fire Department was requested.
