Rider injured after losing control of motorcycle

MILACA-A motorcyclist was injured after being thrown from her bike Saturday.

Michelle A. Banks, 47, from Otsego, was the only one involved in the crash which occurred on Highways 169 at 23 near Milaca, the Minnesota State Patrol reported. Banks was traveling south when she drifted out of her lane and left the roadway into the median. She was thrown from the 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle and landed in the median. She was conscious and breathing, and flown to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale with non-life threatening injuries.

Banks was not wearing a helmet, no alcohol was involved and road conditions were dry at the time of crash at 4:03 p.m., according to the state patrol crash report.

Milaca Police Department and Mille Lacs County Sheriff assisted at the scene.
