AITKIN - Susan Cleveland, a regional quilting personality, will speak at the Ripple River Quilting meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the 40 Club Convention Center in Aitkin. The public is invited.
Area quilt makers call Cleveland one of the world's most enthusiastic quilters. She will share sewing tips designed to increase accuracy and share how to add fresh, interesting details with piping, prairie points, heavy threads, and embellishments. Her quilts have won awards at the American Quilting Society competitions in Paducah, Ky., and Houston, Texas.
Ripple River Quilt members are encouraged to bring "show and tell" projects to share at the meeting. Ripple River Quilters welcomes beginning-to-expert quilters/fabric-artists to its monthly meetings, held the second Tuesday of every month in Aitkin. For this program, a $5 fee for non-members will be accepted at the door.
