Crafts, artwork, jewelry and those eye-catching agates are all part of the annual Cuyuna Rock, Gem and Mineral Society show May 7-8 at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds.

The Cuyuna Rock, Gem and Mineral Society "is organized exclusively to foster a scientific and educational interest in, and to promote the study of earth sciences: in particular archeology, geology, mineralogy, paleontology and the lapidary arts."

At the annual spring show, which moved from Crosby to Brainerd a few years ago, there are vendors, exhibits and displays. A kids' corner provides activities for youngsters. In addition, there will be flint knapping demonstrations, a Wizard of Rocks to answer questions and rock cutting so people can see what is inside their finds. Expect free prizes for kids, silent auctions and door prizes.

"We have lots of material for sale from some excellent vendors," the society stated about its show on its website.

Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 7 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 8.
