Rollover crash sends driver to hospital

STAPLES--A 31-year-old rural Staples man was injured when the vehicle he was driving rolled over Monday, May 20, on 251st Avenue in Thomastown Township, north of Staples in Wadena County.

STAPLES-A 31-year-old rural Staples man was injured when the vehicle he was driving rolled over Monday, May 20, on 251st Avenue in Thomastown Township, north of Staples in Wadena County.

The Wadena County Sheriff's Office was called at 7:29 p.m. to the one-vehicle rollover crash. North A. Wiebesick was driving a 2004 Buick Regal south on 251st Avenue. The sheriff's office reported the driver drifted onto the west shoulder, over-corrected entering the northbound lane, then hit the east shoulder, over-correcting again, rolling the Buick.

Wiebesick, who was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, was transported to Lakewood Health System in Staples with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Todd County Sheriff's Office, Staples police and fire departments, Lakewood Health Systems Ambulance and Scott's Towing assisted the Wadena County Sheriff's Office.
