Run for Hope embraces the night with glow

The Run for Hope 5K is an evening race that provides an opportunity for participants to get their glow on.

This 3rd annual event has a 5K option, 2-mile walk and a kids' 1K.

More than 200 people participated last year. Prizes will be awarded for the best glow.

• 5K run (chip timed), $30 until June 30, $35 until July 18 at 11:59 p.m., $40 race day.

• 2.1-mile walk (not timed) $25 until June 30, $30 until July 18 at 11:59 p.m., $35 race day.

• Kids 1K (not timed), $10 until July 18 at 11:59 p.m., $15 race day.

Proceeds will benefit Bridges of Hope's work with families in the lakes area.

The race is July 23 with a July 22 packet pickup and registration from noon to 6 p.m. at the Bridges of Hope office, 2011 S. Sixth Street in Brainerd.

On July 23, it's a 7:30 p.m. packet pickup and registration at the Northland Arboretum, 14250 Conservation Drive, with 8:30 p.m. Kid's 1K start, 9 p.m. Go for the Glow! 5K start time, 9:05 p.m. Walk for Hope start, 9:45 p.m. awards.

The event will go on with rain or shine.
