Ruud announces town hall meetings

Sen. Carrie Ruud, R-Breezy Point, will hold the first in a series of district meetings beginning Jan. 13. Constituents are encouraged to attend and discuss the issues which are important to them before the 2016 legislative session kicks off March 8.

Sen. Carrie Ruud, R-Breezy Point, will hold the first in a series of district meetings beginning Jan. 13. Constituents are encouraged to attend and discuss the issues which are important to them before the 2016 legislative session kicks off March 8.

On Jan. 13 she will be at the Greater Lakes Association of Realtors in Baxter from 9-10 a.m., the Fort Steakhouse in Fort Ripley from 11 a.m. to noon and Garrison City Hall from 1-2 p.m.

On Jan. 20 she will be at the Jenkins VFW from 9-10 a.m., the A Pine Restaurant in Pequot Lakes from 11 to noon and Nisswa City Hall from 1-2 p.m. Meetings will continue each Wednesday through Feb. 10 at various locations throughout the district.

"I'd like to encourage anyone with questions or suggestions regarding the upcoming session to stop into one of my local meetings," Ruud said in a release. "I'm looking forward hearing from the district about the issues they feel strongly about."

Future meeting locations (times to be determined) include Breezy Point, Crosslake and Emily on Jan. 27; Crosby, Deerwood and Aitkin on Feb. 3; and Hill City, Palisade and MCgregor on Feb. 10.
