Sen. Carrie Ruud, R-Breezy Point, recently traveled to Eau Claire, Wis., to participate in the National Foundation for Women Legislators Spring Symposium. Ruud currently serves as the Chair Elect of the NFWL and will become Chair of the organization in 2017.
This unique leadership development event brought together a mixed group of municipal, county and state elected women, unelected women in government, along with female leaders in education, nonprofit organizations and the private sector. Meeting topics included human trafficking, building relationships between legislative and local officials and encouraging more women to run for elected office.
"NFWL challenges women to excel in ever greater roles and responsibilities," said Ruud in a news release. "This symposium was a great way to network and share ideas among elected women from across the Midwest."
