Safety classes set for YMCA

The Brainerd Family YMCA will offer an American Health and Safety Institute CPR for the community and the work place and an American Safety and Health Institute Basic First Aid class. The CPR class will meet 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. Sept.16. Participants will learn to recognize and respond to the signals of heart attack, cardiac arrest and stroke as well as other medical emergencies for adults, children and infants including obstructed airway (choking), allergic reactions and drowning. The Basic First Aid course will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 25. Both classes will be held at the YMCA. Participants will receive certifications upon completion. Cost is $47 for YMCA Members and $52 for Community Members for each class. Register now, class sizes are limited. Classes must be paid for at time of registration.
