The Salvation Army can offer food and financial assistance, as resources allow, for federal employees in North Dakota and Greater Minnesota impacted by the government shutdown.
Among the Salvation Army locations offering support are Brainerd, Duluth, International Falls, Rochester and Grand Forks, N.D.
Federal employees can receive food at all of these locations. Financial assistance such as gas vouchers, utility assistance and rent/mortgage assistance is in limited supply and will be offered on a case-by-case basis. Services will be provided weekdays during regular business hours. To receive services, people must bring their federal ID and bill documentation.
Donations of food and money are in great need, the Salvation Army reported. Nonperishable foods can be given at any Salvation Army location. Monetary donations can be made in three ways:
• Give online at www.SalvationArmyNorth.org .
