The Brainerd Salvation Army and Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless are teaming up for their seventh annual food drive challenge.
Hunger Solution's Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless will proportionally match donations made to the food shelf throughout the month of July. The more funds the food shelf can raise, the larger the match will be. In 2015 Minnesota food shelves raised more than $1.5 million with this grant.
Food shelves throughout Minnesota help individuals, families and seniors get the nutritious food they need but can't afford to purchase on their own. Hunger Solutions works toward ending hunger by supporting programs and agencies that provide food to those in need.
