EDEN PRAIRIE - Sausages that spilled from a semi that hit a center median wall on Interstate 494 in Eden Prairie at 8:12 a.m. Monday caused traffic slowdowns during the rush hour.
Sgt. Tiffani Nielson of the Minnesota State Patrol said the semi driver blacked out during a medical condition with the truck hitting the median and shearing off the side of the trailer allowing the meat products to spill onto the roadway.
She said the left lanes of traffic in both directions were closed to allow for clean-up. The lanes were reopened by about 10:30 a.m., she said.
The truck driver wasn’t injured, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution, Nielson said.
The incident happened near the Prairie Center Drive exit in the westbound lane of the interstate.
