GRAND RAPIDS - The civil trial in the case of a rural Nashwauk garage that was sawed in half has been delayed.
The trial, originally set for this week in State District Court in Grand Rapids, was postponed to Dec. 15, court officials said Monday.
The case was filed by Mark Besemann of Iron against Roger Weber of rural Nashwauk.
Besemann purchased a home in rural Nashwauk in April 2013, and arrived there soon after to find that the garage had been sawed in half.
Weber has admitted cutting the garage in half and removing half of it, but said that half of garage was on his side of adjacent property he owns. The home and garage had been owned by Weber’s father and sister prior to Besemann purchasing it.

Weber, a Republican candidate for the Minnesota House in District 6A, said last week that the issue was a private family matter. He declined to answer additional questions.
