The leadership of the Central Minnesota Council of the Boy Scouts of America is part of a statewide program called School Night For Scouting. This program is the largest recruiting effort for Cub Scouts ever to take place in the state.
The program will take place in elementary schools across the state from 7-8 p.m. Sept. 18.
The Cub Scouts program is divided up into age and grade levels starting with kindergarten through fifth grade. Each level partners the scout with various age appropriate activities to build character, teamwork skills and leadership skills.
Cub Scouts participate in indoor and outdoor activities including: day camps, pinewood derby, raingutter regatta and various field trips. Cub Scouts also gain knowledge in a vast number of areas including: citizenship, first aid, physical fitness and technology.
A 2013 study conducted by Wilder Research found 76 percent of parents reported their son had increased their ability to solve problems on their own and 84 percent believed their son showed a greater willingness to help others after becoming involved in Cub Scouts.

A Cub Scout membership costs $24 annually but all boys are welcome regardless of ability to pay.
