School Night for Scouting set Sept. 20

School Night for Scouting will be 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at all the elementary schools in Brainerd, Pillager and schools across the state. Boy Scouts leaders from local units will be at the schools to talk with students who want to join Scouting.

School Night for Scouting will be 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at all the elementary schools in Brainerd, Pillager and schools across the state.

Boy Scouts leaders from local units will be at the schools to talk with students who want to join Scouting. Parents may also visit www.BeAScout.org to learn more about Scouting or where they can join a local unit.

Cub Scouts is a program for boys and girls in kindergarten to 11 years old. The Boy Scout program is available for boys ages 11 to 18. Both programs are led by trained volunteers following programs created by the national organization of the Boy Scouts of America. Scouts have the opportunity to learn outdoor skills, patriotism, citizenship, healthy living, sportsmanship and more, a news release stated.

Scouting is designed to be a family-friendly program bringing together parents and children with

activities and programs where they can grow and learn together.
