EMILY - Essentia Health and Northern Orthopedics are offering a free educational seminar on joints on Sept. 8 in Emily. The name of the program is "What is my joint pain telling me?" Essentia Health and Northern Orthopedics have partnered to share information on warning signs and treatment options. The event is from 4-5:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the Emily City Hall, 39811 State Highway 6 in Emily.

Topics include surgical and non-surgical treatment options by Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Paul Rud of Northern Orthopedics, Ltd. While joint replacements used to be recommended only for people age 70 and older, many younger people now get the work done and experience lasting relief from the chronic pain of arthritis allowing them to return to the activities they enjoy.

Attendees will also hear from a joint replacement patient sharing their personal journey, and learn stretching activities they can do at home from physical therapist Mike Steichen at the Essentia Health - Baxter Clinic.

Everyone will have an opportunity to ask the experts questions, as well as enjoy light appetizers and beverages.

Registration is requested for this free education event. Register online at EssentiaHealth.org/JointWellnessCenter or call 828-7414.
