A 32-year-old Remer man was sentenced Monday in Cass County District Court to 12 years in prison for first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a 4-year-old girl.
Cass County Attorney Christopher Strandlie reported Jacob John White's sentence will run concurrently with one year in jail for committing fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The first-degree count against White involved sexual assault of a 4-year-old child in August and September in 2016. The fifth-degree count involved the attempted removal of a 12-year-old child's clothing with sexual intent.
A 10-year conditional release period will apply after White serves his prison sentence.
He will have to register as a predatory offender upon his release from prison.
