Session focuses on protection against scams, identity theft and fraud

HACKENSACK - A session on "How to Protect Yourself from Consumer Fraud, Scams & Identity Theft" is planned at noon May 19 at the Hackensack Senior Center behind the post office.

The discussion is presented by Jay Haapala, associate state director of community outreach with AARP Minnesota.

The session will look at how to protect oneself and loved ones from frauds and scams, understanding the latest trends and tactics in fraud, protecting savings and a look at who is most vulnerable.

The event is sponsored by Cass County TRIAD, which is senior citizens and law enforcement working together to keep seniors safe.

An RSVP is requested for the event by calling 218-675-6137. The regular TRIAD meeting will follow.
