PELICAN RAPIDS -Severe cold may have been a factor in the death of a woman whose body was found Monday near Pelican Rapids.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Jamie Fox, 27, of Pelican Rapids. Her body was found near outbuildings near the intersection of County Highway 4 and U.S. Highway 59 north of Pelican Rapids in northwest Minnesota.

Fox was last seen Saturday night at the Pelican Supper Club, which is near the area where she was found.

The cause of death is still undetermined, but exposure may be a factor, the sheriff’s office said. Temperatures dropped into the single digits over the weekend.

An autopsy will be performed as part of the investigation.
