EAGAN - A high speed chase through the southern Twin Cities ended with a crash in Eagan early Thursday.
St. Paul police were looking for a man who reportedly sexually assaulted someone he knew shortly after midnight, said Sgt. Paul Paulos, a St. Paul police spokesman. The man's identity wasn't released as of Thursday morning.
Authorities had information the man was in the south metro. They alerted other law enforcement agencies with the man's identity and vehicle information, Paulos said.
The chase started in Lakeville around 3:30 a.m. and ended in Eagan. Lakeville police spotted the vehicle northbound on Interstate 35. The driver refused to stop, which led to the pursuit, Lakeville police said.
Lakeville police terminated the chase when they lost sight of the vehicle, after it went through Bloomington. Eagan police spotted the vehicle on Minnesota 13 and picked up the chase.

The pursued vehicle reached speeds of 110 mph twice, according to scanner audio from Minnesota Police Clips.
Police used "stop sticks," which caused the driver to lose a tire and hit an underpass bridge at Cedar Avenue, under Cliff Road in Eagan, according to scanner audio.
A weapon was used during the assault, Paulos said. Investigators are looking into how the man got into the woman's home. The 30-year-old suspect was taken to Regions Hospital with injuries from the crash, Paulos said.
