BAXTER — A 30-year-old Brainerd man was injured in an incident Monday, June 1, near the Westgate Mall in Baxter.
The Baxter Police Department was called at 7:23 p.m. to a report of a man who was being treated in the emergency room at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd for a possible assault.
The Brainerd man told police he was near the Westgate Mall when he was chased by someone about 11 a.m. and struck by a sharp object in the back.
Police reported no one was arrested and the case remains under investigation.
