RED WING - A captain with the Milwaukee County (Wis.) Sheriff’s Office was arrested on a drunken driving charge Sunday by Red Wing police after reportedly showing her badge and asking to be let go as a “professional courtesy,” authorities said.
Catherine Mary Trimboli, 41, of St. Francis, Wis., was booked into the Goodhue County Adult Detention Center early Sunday on charges of fourth-degree DWI and alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more within two hours. She was released on a promise to appear.
A Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office news release said Trimboli was stopped because her vehicle’s taillights were off. She initially refused a preliminary breath test but later registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.14, nearly twice the legal limit in Minnesota.
Trimboli was placed on administrative duty, and Sheriff David Clarke Jr. has ordered an internal investigation.
If convicted, Trimboli faces up to 90 days in jail.
