The 25-year-old Pequot Lakes man killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday, May 31, in Sylvan Township was identified as Scott Mead.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fatal crash at 3:31 a.m. on 11th Avenue Southwest, also known as County Road 36, in rural Brainerd.
Cass County sheriff’s deputies and first responders found a 2005 GMC Yukon had left the roadway. The vehicle rolled several times, striking trees and power lines. Two occupants were located, ejected from the vehicle.
Mead was found dead at the scene and his 21-year-old passenger, identified Tuesday as Alexis Coventry of Motley, was treated on scene and transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd with serious injuries.
