A 59-year-old Brainerd man was pronounced dead by medical personnel following a call at 8:14 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 on the 7000 block of Stone Ridge, just south of Brainerd.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death, but it appears to be death by suicide. The sheriff's office reported a family member located the man in a wooded area and life saving efforts were attempted, but were unsuccessful.
The body was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death. The case remains open.
The Brainerd Fire Department assisted at the scene.
