Fire destroyed a small utility trailer and an old camper Monday, Dec. 10, east of Brainerd and the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
The Brainerd Fire Department was called at 8:04 a.m. to the fires on the 11000 block of Burgwald Road, south of Paul Bunyan Land off Highway 18. There were 15 firefighters on scene for about an hour extinguishing the two fires.
Brainerd Fire Chief Tim Holmes said the trailers were in separate locations on the property and were fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. Holmes said a passerby called in the fire. The home on the property was untouched.
Denny Lasher, chief deputy with the sheriff's office, said the sheriff's office is investigating the fire as a "potential arson." The sheriff's office was called out to the property twice Sunday night regarding civil issues between a tenant and landlord and an investigation is being pursued.
