ROYALTON -- The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office has located a person of interest in a possible sexual assault that took place July 22 near Royalton.
The sheriff’s office reported investigators learned the person of interest is a known acquaintance to the victim and there is no danger to the public.
The sheriff’s office received a report at 11:12 a.m. July 22, involving 39-year-old Sartell woman who met with an officer from the Royalton Police Department and reported she was sexually assaulted. During the initial investigation, it was determined the assault took place outside the Royalton city limits. The case was turned over to the sheriff’s office where it is actively being investigated.
The sheriff’s office declined to release more details on the case, including if the person of interest was arrested, stating it is an active investigation.
