RED LAKE - Multiple law enforcement agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation have responded to an active crime scene on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Minnesota on Friday, according to officials.
FBI spokesman Kyle Loven said Friday morning he hoped to provide more details later in the day.
"We'll have to see how the current situation plays out," he said.
The Red Lake Bureau of Indian Affairs officials said they had no information on the incident. Red Lake police told Forum News Service there had been reports of shots fired on the reservation, which is in north central Minnesota.
According to a news release this morning, the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office and Headwaters SWAT team are assisting Red Lake authorities with an incident occurring on the Red Lake Reservation.

At about 6:30 a.m., Sheriff’s Office received a request for mutual aid assistance from the Red Lake Police Department, Chief Deputy Ernie Beitel said in the release.
