FLENSBURG — A passenger on a Polaris Ranger was hospitalized and the driver is in jail after losing control of the side-by-side and crashing Sunday, Sept. 13, in a corn field off Dove Road in Morrison County.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was called at 6:30 p.m. to the all-terrain vehicle crash at a residence, a mile south of Flensburg in Swan River Township. Upon arrival, deputies learned a 22-year-old Swanville man was driving the side-by-side with 24-year-old Dalton Schneider of Little Falls, who was a passenger.
The side-by-side was being operated at a residence off Dove Road in a corn field, the sheriff’s office reported. The driver lost control of the side-by-side, causing it to roll and eject the passenger. Schneider was transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance with unknown injuries.
The ATV driver was taken into custody and transported to the Morrison County Jail for possible criminal charges of driving while intoxicated and criminal vehicular operation.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Bowlus First Response Team and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
