The Brainerd Fire Department responded to three calls involving smoke or fire last week, in addition to its response Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 4, to a small roof fire at Brainerd High School.
At 5:42 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, firefighters responded to Snow White Laundry and Car Wash, 614 Charles St., for a report of smoke in the building. Upon investigation, they determined smoke was caused by a dryer motor.
Earlier that day at 7:53 a.m., the department was called to the 800 block of Oak Street for a report of fire in a basement. Firefighters ventilated smoke in the basement and investigated, finding minor damage. No injuries occurred.
At 12:21 p.m. Tuesday, responders were called to the 10000 block of Legionville Road after reports of a boxcar fire. Firefighters extinguished a small fire next to a stovepipe in a workshop.
