Snow tube crashes into vehicle, sending rider to hospital

PINE RIVER--A 66-year-old Mora man went to the hospital Sunday to be checked out after the snow tube he was on crashed with a vehicle on the 10000 block of Trout Lake Drive in Pine River.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office reported David Vegt was tubing down a hill on private property near the Trout Lake Camp, when he hit the bottom of the hill and collided with a vehicle that was passing by.

PINE RIVER-A 66-year-old Mora man went to the hospital Sunday to be checked out after the snow tube he was on crashed with a vehicle on the 10000 block of Trout Lake Drive in Pine River.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office reported David Vegt was tubing down a hill on private property near the Trout Lake Camp, when he hit the bottom of the hill and collided with a vehicle that was passing by. Vegt was brought to a hospital by private vehicle to be checked out, but he had no apparent injuries. The driver of the vehicle, Collin Janssen, 20, of Crane Lane, was not injured.

The crash was reported at 7:37 a.m.
