Snowmobile crash injures 70-year-old woman

CUSHING-A 70-year-old Cushing woman was transported to a hospital with a possible leg injury following a snowmobile crash.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reported the snowmobile crash occurred at 5:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, and was on property located near Lakeview Drive, on the east side of Lake Alexander, in Scandia Valley Township.

Mary Schmidt was driving a snowmobile on her property, when she drove down a steep hill and hit a tree, according to the sheriff's office. The Scandia Valley Fire Department responded to the scene to assist in getting Schmidt up the steep hill. She was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to a hospital.

The Scandia Valley First Response Team and North Memorial Air Care also assisted at the scene.
