Festival revelers heading to downtown Brainerd should be mindful of the South Sixth Street reconstruction project underway-though, project manager Joe Cameron said, crews are keeping a few key roadways open for the sake of the festivities.
Laurel and Maple streets have been left open, Cameron said during a phone interview, in order to prepare the influx of traffic. He said he's also confident Front Street will also be accessible during this time, although he wasn't able to guarantee that as of Friday afternoon.
Construction has moved to the northern point of the project. Cameron said crews have started to tear up the northern portions of the project-the street bordering Washington Street/Highway 210, primarily at the rail intersection. In addition to that, some final work need to be made on Willow Street-Pine Street section of the project.
