Several students from Staples-Motley High School and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley (WHA) placed Friday in the 2015 Minnesota State High School League Class A State Speech Tournament conducted at Lakeville North School.
There were 186 Class A teams competing in speech statewide this year.
The WHA school still tops the Class A list with 40 state champions between 1969 and 2015, which is good for a third-place tie on the list of Most State Champions-All Classes. And WHA still tops the list of top medal-winning Class A schools with 232, and Mounds Park Academy has 150.
