State patrol identifies motorcyclist who died

PEQUOT LAKES--The 48-year-old East Gull Lake man who died after the motorcycle he drove collided with a pickup truck Friday, Sept. 7, was identified as Jeffrey Scott Stirewalt, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

PEQUOT LAKES-The 48-year-old East Gull Lake man who died after the motorcycle he drove collided with a pickup truck Friday, Sept. 7, was identified as Jeffrey Scott Stirewalt, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

The Pequot Lakes Police Department responded to the crash at 3:44 p.m. on the 6400 block of County Highway 11. According to a news release, the crash occurred when a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound made a left turn in front of an oncoming 2018 Ducati Panigale motorcycle. The pickup truck, driven by Thomas Roy Jacobson, 69, of Pine River, hit the motorcycle.

Stirewalt, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. Jacobson was not injured and was wearing a seat belt, according to the state patrol.
