In a news release Tuesday, Dec. 10, Congressman Pete Stauber, R-Duluth, praised news of an official agreement on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
“Today’s announcement of an agreement is great news for our nation, and long overdue. While President Trump negotiated this critical trade deal over a year ago, Speaker Pelosi delayed the vote on the USMCA in pursuit of partisan impeachment. After months of relentless advocacy from House Republicans, I am relieved Speaker Pelosi finally did the right thing for the nation and agreed to move forward with the USMCA,” Stauber stated in the release. “This trade agreement will expand our markets, add close to $63 billion to the economy, and create 176,000 new jobs — with thousands of jobs coming to Minnesota. I have supported this trade agreement from day one and I applaud President Trump for delivering this win to Minnesota’s farmers, manufacturers, businesses, and families.”
